  • Problem. A client was in an extremely competitive business. Negotiations with distributors were extremely important to the success - or failure - of maintaining the client's market share. MarketNet was hired to conduct secondary market research into the distribution marketplace to uncover possible trends that would affect the client's bargaining position with their distributors.
  • Analysis. An auditing procedure of magazines developed by MarketNet not only uncovered a client's competitor violating the patents on a client's products; additional research put the client in the enviable position of dealing from a position of strength with a distributor who was trying to "strong arm" our client into lowering his price on the product - or going to the competitor. In other words, the distributor intended to use the competitor's product (which violated patents) as a basis of negotiation with the client. The analysis nullified this effect.
  • Result. The client was able to deal successfully with the distributors, avoiding potential defections. In addition, the client embarked on patent infringement lawsuits to stop the competitor from encroaching on his existing patents. Value was delivered.
